ATV Rider Course

Course Description

• Whether you use an ATV for work or pleasure or just want to brush up on your skills, this course offers something for everyone.
• Held as a one day course with students progressing through basic techniques to accomplish riding in a safe and controlled manner.
• Topics covered include proper safety gear, pre-ride inspection, range signals, controls, starting and stopping, braking, riding strategies, turning, riding circles and figure 8’s, sharp and quick turns, stopping and swerving, emergency stops, riding over obstacles, traversing hills, safe riding practices and environmental concerns.
• Small class sizes of a maximum 8 students allows for excellent student evaluation and safe learning environment.
• Lunch is not provided: Our training location is 40 minutes from downtown Prince George, therefore students should bring their own food and refreshments. An outhouse is available onsite.
• Training can be provided at other locations, however additional fees will apply.
• Time permitting we offer our students a fun trail ride on completion of the session.

Admission Requirements

• No prior knowledge required to attend this course.
• Provide a parent/guardian signature if under 19 years of age.
• Minimum age requirement: 16 years of age
• Photo ID presented to Instructor – driver’s license preferred but will accept other forms of valid government issue photo identification.
• Fees paid in full or approved for invoicing in writing.
• Prior to course commencement, students must complete all course registration forms and waivers. Refusal to sign forms results in dismissal without refund.
• If candidates bring their own ATV’s, they must be suitably sized and mechanically sound. (Ask about rentals if do not have an ATV).
• Candidates must have an appropriately sized helmet that is safety certified and safety glasses. (Ask about rentals if do not have helmet and safety glasses)
• Candidates must wear sturdy footwear, long pants, long sleeve shirt, gloves and any additional clothing for the environment as the program is held entirely outdoors (rain or shine).

Certification Requirements

• The candidate must participate in the entire program and successfully complete course objectives.
