Recertifying as a Canadian Red Cross Instructor has 3 steps
Step 1 Check Prerequisites
A current CRC First Aid Program Instructor certification,
Have taught a minimum of three Canadian Red Cross First Aid Program courses during the three-year certification period. One course must have been taught in each Instructor designation seeking recertification (to the highest level of certification with each program area, recertification courses qualify).
Step 2: Complete Pre-Course Assignment
Will be detailed pre-course to each Instructor via their Instructor Trainer.
Step 3: Classroom Component
Course Instructor: Instructor Trainer certified to the level of Instructor recertification sought. Students must successfully demonstrate selected discipline specific clinical and instructional skills and adhere to the Canadian Red Cross Standards of Behaviour and the Group Charter (created in class). The student must attend and participate in 100% of the course—this includes active, directed contributions at all scheduled sessions
Cdn Red Cross Instructor Recert
Becoming a Canadian Red Cross First Aid Instructor has 4 steps.
Step 1 (pre-course) – not part of this course or fee
-Check Prerequisites SFA with CPR C
Step 2 Instructor Course held over one weekend (Sat & Sun) 8:15am-4:30pm
-Online 8 hours (must be completed prior to course start)
Step 3 held over a second weekend (Sat & Sun) 8:15am-4:30pm
– Discipline specific Classroom component – New Instructors will co-teach a SFA
Step 4 Teaching Experience – not part of this course or fee
– Online 30-45 minutes
