Transportation Endorsement

Course Description

• The Transportation Endorsement course is a one day program for the Basic (Level 1) or Intermediate (Level 2) student.
• Candidates will learn skills and knowledge to safely transport injured workers to medical aid.
• While applying knowledge from prior first aid certification, students will learn how to effectively use equipment such as hard collar application and securing candidates onto spine boards and scoop stretchers.

Classes are limited to 12 students per instructor.

Admission Requirements

• Candidates must hold a valid WorksafeBC Basic First Aid (Level 1) or Intermediate First Aid (Level 2) certificate. Equivalent certification will be accepted provided it meets WorksafeBC eligibility requirements. • If you are unsure if your certificate is acceptable, please scan and email your certificate to us at lifesavers@telus.net when you register.
• Candidates who arrive at the program with certificates that are not eligible, will not be permitted to attend the program and will not be given a refund as no notice given to replace their seat in the class. Last minute cancellations less than 5 business days will also not be eligible for refunds.
• Additionally, if your eligible valid certificate was issued outside of the province of BC, you will be required to produce an Out of Jurisdiction Certificate. Lifesavers can issue the certificate for an additional fee of $45.00. Candidates must complete the online package called: “Jurisprudence Package for other Jurisdictions Obtaining OFA certification in British Columbia”.  This package if found on the WorksafeBC website see the attached link: https://www.worksafebc.com/resources/health-safety/information-sheets/out-of-jurisdiction-ofa-jurisprudence-package?lang=en&direct To achieve this certification, candidates must bring in this completed document, with their eligible out of province certificate, photo ID, and complete an application form. Please advise us if you are coming in to complete this process as it can take 10 -15 minutes to process your application and certification.
• Provide a parent/guardian signature if under 16 years of age. *No minimum age requirement, but strongly recommend a minimum age of 16 years.
• Employers must ensure that a “Designated First Aid Attendant” is at least 16 years of age.
• Be physically capable of performing the necessary skills to demonstrate competency
• Fees paid in full or approved for invoicing in writing

Certification Requirements

• The candidate must provide photographic identification to the instructor prior to issuance of a certificate.
• The candidate must participate in the entire program and successfully complete course objectives.
